‘GIVE PEACE A CHANCE’ SURREY FESTIVAL (Celebration of the International Day of Peace, 2016)

GLOBAL PEACE ALLIANCE SURREY SOCIETY (GPA) celebrated the 2016 International Day of Peace with its first, annual ‘GIVE PEACE A CHANCE SURREY FESTIVAL’ on Saturday, September 24th. It was the first time a peace-themed multicultural event of global significance of this importance was held in the City of Surrey or anywhere else in British Columbia or Canada. There were live performances by a record number of varied cultural groups from around the world: Aboriginal, Mexican, Sri Lankan, Indian, Vietnamese, Scottish, Tibetan, Japanese, Arabic, Ukrainian, African, Greek, Filipino, and more. The turnout was tremendous. Lots of fun for both young and old.
